Webber’s Sportsmanship helped Power keep racing

Posted on 07 August 2010 by Tomaso

Saw the following story on that All Knowing PressDog site... DAMN YOU ‘DAWG!

As it’s now official... As No Fenders is pulling for Aussie Mark Webber to win his very first-ever Formula 1 World Championship! Over the highly touted Master ‘Zebb & the Others, as it would be somewhat symbiotic for Webber to accomplish this feat exactly 30yrs after the last Australian to do so, i.e.; Alan Jones – 1980.

As it would be even ‘kOOLER for Webber ‘N fellow Countryman Will Power to do the double; F1 and the Indy Car Series titles respectively! As I was totally unaware that Messer Webber had helped the “Toowoomba Toranadoe,” a.k.a. Will Power continue his racing career when it had come to a most critical juncture of potentially ending...

Webber’s help kept Power’s career Rolling

So good on Yuhs Mate! As although I was gonna go for either the Blue (Labatt’s) or some Molson this weekend after having just been Up North Eh! Guess I’d better grab a few Foster’s instead!

VIDEO: Webber’s Back!

Posted on 02 July 2010 by Tomaso

Apparently ‘Aussie Mark Webber is firmly planted upon Terra-firma... Which is a very good thing, as he’s just recently performed the crowd pleasing duty of a Red bull Racing “Demonstration” run in BLOODY London!

This morning 02 July at 5am Mark Webber drove his Red Bull F1 in Parliament Square in London and made a pit stop with his team just in front of the House of Parliament.

It was sent to me by Blogmeister Miguel, as an interested Fan sent it to his Blogsite, Sportyblog.com...

Gratzi Vincenzo!

Webber’s Red Bull literally sprouts wings

Posted on 28 June 2010 by Tomaso

So I’m not sure why... But ‘Aussie’s Mark Webber’s full somersault during the European Grand Prix at Valencia made me flash back to the ‘Uber-nasty looking multiple Barrel-rolls Jos “THE BOSS” Verstappen amazingly pulled off during his debutant Formula 1 race in Brazil way back in March, 1994... When the Rookie F1 driver was the recipient of ‘Irv-the-Swerve’s jinking maneuvers during a three-car ‘Scrum with a fourth back marker involved, as one; thankfully Jos was uninjured and two; the most hilarious part I recall ‘bout this is that after Eddie Irvine was given a One race ban and $10,000 fine for causing the accident. Eddie’s boss ‘EJ, nee Eddie Jordan appealed and Irvine’s ban was increased from one race to three... Although I recall the total duration being four, which cracks me up! As I think this was the last driver to be given a race suspension?

And I must say I was appalled by the Race Steward’s decision making Sunday, as what in the HELL is up with giving Lewis Hamilton a “Mulligan?” As that’s the very first time in a long while I’ve actually agreed with Fernando Alonso... On Hamilton’s illegal passing of the Safety Car not being enforced correctly!

And so now, Messer Webber’s walked away twice from pirouetting racing cars... As don’t forget that Webber was a passenger on Le Mans Mulsanne Straight in those multiple Barrel rolling Mercedes Benz CLK-GTR’s...

Webber staying at Red bull

Posted on 08 June 2010 by Tomaso

The man in the middle of Istanbul’s “Cluck-up” when teammate Sebastian Vettel wandered into the race leading “Aussies” path, has been confirmed at Red Bull Racing for a further year, seeing their Driver Duo unchanged for a third season, as both driver’s contracts NOW EXTEND THRU THE 2011 SEASON.

Naturally this is a smart move by Red Bull as Mark Webber currently leads the Formula 1 Drivers World Championship, along with leading RBR teammate Vettel currently by 15 points and now would suggest that Kimi Raikkonen will continue on in the World Rally Championship.

Interestingly, it was SPEED’s Pit Reporter “Newboy” Will Buxton who first claimed a few races back that he believed he’d read Mark’s manager’s “body-language” traipsing in-and-out of the Red Bull compound to suggest that the deal had been done...

Warming up the “Barbie?”

Posted on 15 May 2010 by Tomaso

So even though I know better... I made the mistake very early this morning of looking at grandprix.com in order to have the winner of the Spanish GP revealed; SHEISA! As I’ve been waiting to find out the results...

Thus I could only mutter WTF? When the news pondered if Mark Webber could have a Maranello drive in is future? As I can only regard this in two fashions; first possibly Contract negotiation bargaining? And secondly as Webber could play Wingman for Fredrico Suave, a.k.a. Fernando Alonso who’d I’d guess is the better of the two Drivers and thus could continue playing the dutiful role of No. 2, eh?

Another savory F1 Travel story from Shanghai

Posted on 02 May 2010 by Tomaso

For Obvious reasons, your humble No Fenders Scribe has been keenly interested upon the latest goings of Air Travel to ‘N from Europe, especially since I’m trying to take a trip Across-the-Pond...

Update from Shanghai – April 22

Thus this story recently grabbed my attention, even better yet coming from a voice of the past, as in a one Messer Bob Constanduros, who was the Original voice of Formula 1 to Mwah over one decade ago; Pre “House ‘O Windsor,” a.k.a. Peter Windsor... And I even had the privilege of having been lectured by Bob one fine evening prior to the Italian Grand Prix!

And it’s not surprising to have read upon the Blogosphere that Uncle Bernaughty, nee Mr. Bernard Ecclestone was the very first person home from Shanghai... In what was dubiously coined the “Volcanic Grand Prix,” something to do with owning his own Falcon Jet! To which le internets claim his ex-wife Slavica bought her own matching $36.5m Falcon Jet to celebrate their divorce back in ’09... While I’m sure emperor Bernardo’s is newer and also he apparently gave Master ‘Zebb (Vettel) a lift upon to Dubai; nice having friends in high places, eh?

So NO word on whether or not Messer Constanduros has finally made it back Across-the-Pond, as it sounded like he was getting a bit antsy... And hopefully I’m not jinxing myself by Scribbling ‘bout this, nor Mr. Constanduros, as I found it fairly amusing to read how Mark Webber had forgotten to take his Passport with him upon his return early morning flights from China; CRIKEYS!

Red Bull Racing home again

Meanwhile as of Saturday, April 24th it was reported that only 44 F1 Personnel remained Shanghaied in China...

Nearly all Formula 1 Personnel now Home

F1: 2010 launch – Red Bull

Posted on 10 February 2010 by Tomaso

(Red Bull RB6; Source: grandprix.com)

Today prior to the beginning of the second round of F1 Pre-season testing, Red Bull Racing finally unveiled its 2010 Challenger, the RB6, becoming the final existing Constructor to join the party.

The RB6 like the Force India VJM003 is an evolution of last year’s chassis; albeit the RB5 had much better results then the latter’s VJM002. Mark Webber will have the honours of driving the new car first, getting the first two days of this week’s test session before ‘ZEBB, a.k.a. Sebastian Vettel gets behind the wheel Friday-Saturday.

Reportedly the only visible changes to the RB6 are its shark like front nose and protruding rear dorsal fin, while the obligatory changes necessitated by the new fuel tank and skinnier front tyres have been carefully considered…

Renault staying put for now

Posted on 16 December 2009 by Tomaso

And the Hits just keep on rolling… As another day, another announcement, as its been rumoured that the “Reggie” may be potentially selling its Formula 1 Team now for several weeks, as originally David Richards was thought to be in the “Catbird’s” seat…

Yet, Richards and his Prodrive Operation have been thwarted from the F1 Paddock once again with today’s announcement that Renault has sold a majority stake of its F1 Franchise to Genii Capital, a private Luxemburg company with multiple interests in Technology, Marketing and Sports,

Yet the French owned Team will retain its Renault name for the 2010 season along with providing its V-8 “Lumps” to 2009 Constructors runner-up’s Red Bull Racing.

Genii Capital is run by 37yr old Gerard Lopez, who made part of his fortunes when his Mangrove Capital Partners company got in on the ground floor of backing the internets service known as Skype.

Thus I’m assuming that “The Krakow Kid” (Robert Kubica) will remain as the Reggie’s (namesake) lead driver, while NO word on who’ll partner him as China’s Ho-Pin Tung may be one candidate?

I just hope that his Gravity Sport Management company Isn’t the same company that “Stiffed” Sarah Fisher last year, eh? (Sorry, I couldn’t resist that!)

Kimi’s WRC World Tour set to commence in 2010

Posted on 29 November 2009 by Tomaso

“Yumpin’ Yuh-hosa-fat!”

As I tells Yuh! Its rough sleddin’ tryin’ tooze BEATS duh ‘DAWG (Pressdog) to the ‘lectric scribblin-pad in order to break any news upon the Kimster and his “Oomplats!” (Especially since he’s got a 3hr ‘Yump on Mwah!) As word comes that Messer Räikkönen is reportedly very close to signing a deal to contest the full 2010 World Rally Championship season for Citroen, presumably backed by personal sponsor Red Bull, who are also major sponsors of the Citroen Total World Rally Team …

Raikkonen to race for Citroen in WRC next year?

And speculation still suggests that Räikkönen is simply taking a one year Sabbatical from the pinnacle ‘O Motorsport, (Formula 1) so could Kimi potentially take over Aussie Mark Webber’s seat in 2011 in order to prepare for “ZEBB’s (Vettel’s) departure to Mercedes Grand Prix in 2012?

Hmm? May be that Stuff really does give uze Wings, eh?

Red Bull duo pushes Jense’s button

Posted on 03 November 2009 by Tomaso

Apparently we’re not privy to the full length of the Post-race Driver’s interviews, as we’re just given the TV Unilateral before they switch to the following Press Conference… Where apparently the real fireworks were had as I just busted out laughing over the fact that “ZEBB (Sebastian Vettel) was giving new World Champion ‘JENSE (Button) some major stchick about getting married to his girlfriend over the winter break… To which Vettel’s teammate Mark Webber then joined in the grilling to which seemingly irked off “JENSE quite a bit… As Jenson even stopped his comment to tell them they might like to listen to his comment, to which Webber said we’re just trying to clear our schedules for your wedding Mate!

Hmm? Is that an IZOD shirt Button’s wearing in the photo?
